When Cmdr Maddox comes to take Data and is going to tear him apart; why don't they just open his face or back of his head use a USB type device to retrieve the information?
The reason that Maddox wants to take data may be for a more sinister reason. Seeing as how Data is one of a kind and is an immense help to the star ship he may want to destroy Data. Also, Maddox may want to just keep Data for himself and use his knowledge and abilities for reasons that are not quite as just as the reasons of the people that Data is with currently. However, if Maddox is being honest and takes Data to retrieve his information with hopes to make more androids like Data. Giving every star ship the incredible privilege of the knowledge that data contains.
With all the subtle flirting, do Admiral Picard and Lieutenant Louvieur have an old love interest in one another?
It appears that there were some sort of flame between the two in the past. Picard stated that he was court marshaled in the past so there is definitely some bitterness between the Picard and Louvieur. He believes that she could have done more to keep him from being court marshaled. When they leave one another in a certain scene and Louvieur states that Picard needs to take him out to dinner. Also, she states that she finds Picard sexually attractive.
