Blog 3: Welcome to Hellmouth

When Buffy goes to the library, the librarian pulls out a book that he believes she is looking for.  On the book is the title Vampyr and this seems to startle her.  Why does Buffy lie and tell the librarian that it's not what she is looking for and then run out?

The librarian excitedly pulls out the book hoping Buffy will also be excited to see the book.  Buffy becomes really startled when she sees the book, but even by the end of the episode it is not explained what the book could possibly be for.  The book may either possess some dark magic or something that can either be used for total good or complete evil.  The power this book possesses some power that Buffy doesn't obviously want to deal with and she may have also been startled that the librarian knew so much about her "job" and her coming.

During school, Buffy approaches Willow and asks her for help in school, most likely to also become friends with her.  Earlier, Cordillia had insulted Willow and called her a loser while showing Buffy to the library.  Why does Buffy approach her  to talk despite Cordillia's forewarning to stay away from the losers?

In all Buffy is a good-hearted girl who has just been "luckily" chosen to be the new generation's vampire slayer.  This has put her in certain situations bad and good.  Yet, when she starts at her new school, after being kicked out from the last school, Buffy wants to have a new start and sees that Willow is a sweet, smart, and nice girl despite the mean insults Cordillia said to Willow.  It seemed like Buffy felt bad for Willow, but also thinks that Willow can actually help her with school.
