Blog 28: EoS III: 13 & 14

Omit Needless Words:
Make your writing concise. Do not include unnecessary words or sentences that do not add to the meaning. “The fact” should be taken out of every sentence.
Avoid a succession of loose sentences:
A loose sentence is consists of two co-ordinate clauses, the second introduced by a conjunction or relative. These loose sentences break of the flow of a paragraph when strung together. They should be mixed with shorter sentences.

“The very fact that such weapons exist threatens the world.”
The existence of such weapons threatens the world.
